Brighter Beginnings is a Boone County home visiting collaborative that seeks to expand and simply access to individualized home visiting and parenting education support for pregnant persons and families with young children aged (0-5) in Boone County. The services is free, voluntary, and confidential. Based on responses to a brief referral questionnaire, you will be connected to a program that you are eligible for, and that is tailored to your needs and goals. This means quicker connections to support, and no more "shopping around" for support when you need it most.

Boone County Community Against Violence (BCCAV) stands beside survivors as they rebuild their lives and works to prevent future tragedies. As a gun violence survivor-led organization, we are committed to healing, justice, and prevention.
We fill a critical gap in services for survivors of gun violence by offering:
Trauma-informed programs that focus on healing and empowerment.
Advocacy and resource navigation to help survivors rebuild stability and seek justice.
Community engagement initiatives that promote understanding, prevention, and unity.

Show Me Hope Missouri

The State of Missouri has a Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) known as ‘Show-Me Hope’ that is funded by FEMA and SAMSHA in response to federally declared disasters. The CCP helps people recover and rebuild their lives after a disaster. It supports short-term interventions that involve the following counseling goals:
Helping disaster survivors understand their current situation and reactions.
Reducing stress and providing emotional support.
Assisting survivors in reviewing their disaster recovery options.
Promoting the use or development of coping strategies.
Connecting survivors with other people and agencies who can help them in their recovery process.
Services include:
Individual and group crisis counseling.
Basic supportive or educational contact.
Community networking and support.
Assessments, referrals, and resources.
Development and distribution of educational materials.
Media and public service announcements.
As the community builds resilience, CCP services phase down and transition to the existing community resources. Learn more about Show Me Hope Missouri
