Crisis Needs

FAQs

  • Once an application is submitted with all required documents and the landlord has provided their info, it usually takes 2-3 weeks to review. If nothing needs to be corrected, payment is processed within 2-3 more weeks. From starting with a completed application submission to a landlord receiving payment, the process could be completed within 6 weeks. An application must be submitted with all required documents. If a lease or past-due statement is unavailable, processing time will be delayed. 8-10 weeks is more common if documents and corrections are needed.

  • SAFHR assistance is intended to help you get caught up with past-due rent and provide a little cushion for you to get back on your feet. It’s important to plan for paying your rent after your SAFHR assistance ends. This is a stressful time, and if you’re behind on rent, you may be behind on other expenses too. It’s hard to manage everything else going on if you’re also anxious about where you’re going to live. Paying rent is the most important expense, followed by utilities, transportation, and groceries.
