Second Annual Love Columbia Howdy’s Car Show - Get ready for an incredible day of cool cars and family fun while supporting the Love Columbia transportation program! Howdy's Car Show is happening Saturday, October 4, at The Crossing Church parking lot from 10:00AM-1:30PM for spectators. The parking lot opens at 8:00AM for car show participants.
The event is FREE for spectators, so bring the whole family and enjoy a fantastic day out. We'll have awesome food trucks, a live DJ and of course amazing cars. You can register your car into the show for $20 on the day of the event.
Campus Lutheran Fall Festival and German Bratwurst Dinner supporting Love Columbia’s Transitional Housing Program, Love Forward Homes - The 5th annual Fall Festival and German Bratwurst Dinner is fast approaching on Saturday, October 4, 2025! The festival opens at 9:00 am with the bratwurst dinner from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Please join us for Fellowship, Food and Crafts! There will be an assortment of handmade items, delicious baked goods, homemade candies, baby items, Fall and Christmas home decor and ornaments, candles, knitted and crocheted items, etc.
All donations will support the Love Columbia transitional housing project “Forward Homes Columbia” to help provide family housing in our community.
Affordable Housing Coalition - Our goal is to provide a united voice for development of more affordable housing and promote the various projects of the coalition members. We want to raise awareness about the current housing crisis and give community members opportunities to respond individually and by forming partnerships. Meetings include reports from various partners who are developing housing stock and educational presentations about the current state of affordable housing, local housing history, and current efforts.
The coalition meets monthly on the third Tuesday at 3:00 PM at the Love Columbia Center. To receive meeting notices, contact: communityservices@boonecountymo.org.
RentWell - Become an informed and preferred renter! RentWell is a 5-part class that will make you a renter that landlords prefer. Topics include: What do landlords want? Can I afford it? Where can I find a rental? Where can I get legal help if needed? As well as information on maintenance, safety, communication, who’s responsible and more.
Growth Mindset Training - Learn how to persist through setbacks and see challenges as opportunities for growth. Growth Mindset is a four session course. Class times vary, please contact coaching@lovecolumbia.org for more information on class dates and times. There is no cost to attend.
HUD First Time Homebuyer Workshop - Comprehensive course that covers topics such as the home buying process, financing options, credit management, and post-purchase concerns. The course is designed to equip first-time homebuyers with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions throughout the home buying process. The in-person class is offered 6 times a year. One-on-one coaching sessions are also available.
Good Dads - Good Dads provides education and support for fathers seeking to deepen their connection with their children.
Pre-Homeownership Class - Learn how to work toward becoming financially ready to pursue homeownership. The class will provide credit building skills and advice from real estate lenders on how to prepare for homeownership. One on one counseling will be provided if needed in addition to the class.
Within My Reach - Within My Reach classes start September 9, at 1205 E Walnut Street dinner at 5:30 PM and class from 6:00-7:30 PM. About the class: Attain and maintain relationships, learn co-parenting skills, get a deeper understanding of yourself.
