CMFCAA is a resource center for foster and adoptive families. There is no charge to use our services and if you have foster or adoptive or relative or guardianship care of children in your home then you qualify for our services. We also help license new foster and adoptive families through our Family Development team. We educate, support, and advocate for foster, kinship and adoptive children, youth and families in central Missouri by offering services and partnering with others to help them become healthy and self-sufficient.

Living With Grief Support Group

This is a grief support group. It is a processing group that meets every Tuesday from 6:00-7:30 PM. Anyone who experiences grief due to the death of someone in their life and who would like support from others who have similar experiences.

Provides services to individuals, organizations and communities who have been directly or indirectly affected by trauma, as well as anyone who has an interest in understanding more about trauma and resilience. Provides trainings and workshops on the impact of trauma and stress on the body and mental health, as well as how to build resilience and recover. Offers the Safe and Sound Protocol for children and adults who struggle with anxiety or emotional regulation. This service is free to Boone County families.

Crime Victims’ Compensation Program

Show Me Hope Missouri

The State of Missouri has a Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) known as ‘Show-Me Hope’ that is funded by FEMA and SAMSHA in response to federally declared disasters. The CCP helps people recover and rebuild their lives after a disaster. It supports short-term interventions that involve the following counseling goals:
Helping disaster survivors understand their current situation and reactions.
Reducing stress and providing emotional support.
Assisting survivors in reviewing their disaster recovery options.
Promoting the use or development of coping strategies.
Connecting survivors with other people and agencies who can help them in their recovery process.
Services include:
Individual and group crisis counseling.
Basic supportive or educational contact.
Community networking and support.
Assessments, referrals, and resources.
Development and distribution of educational materials.
Media and public service announcements.
