This resource guide covers CMCA's 8 county service area: Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Howard, Moniteau and Osage. It also covers the three additional counties we provide Head Start for: Benton, Hickory, and Morgan. It's a comprehensive guide that includes any and all resources available to help lower income individuals and families in need. The resources and information listed in the guide have been compiled by other groups and agencies in our 8 county service area over the years, and most notably in Boone County by the Voluntary Action Center.

The King’s Daughters & Sons’ (KD & S) Dental Aid Program provides dental care to eligible students from the Columbia Public Schools, in cooperation with school district staff and Columbia dentists. School district nurses refer students who need dental care and have no financial resources to cover services. The program serves eligible students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Community Health Center of Central Missouri accepts most major insurances and Medicaid. Uninsured (emergency services only) and underinsured patients are asked to complete a sliding fee application prior to service. Lowest co-pay for sliding scale is $20 per visit. Mobile Dental Units serve the dental needs of eligible physically challenged children, and mentally challenged/developmentally disabled adults and children. Basic and routine dental treatments include x-rays, examinations, cleaning, fluoride treatments, fillings, routine extractions, root canals, and referrals.

Voluntary Action Center is a local non profit responding to the basic needs of the individuals within our community. VAC services and eligibility flyer
- Household: Must be a Boone County Resident.
- Income: Gross monthly income for everyone living at the Address must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Information includes: employment income, unemployment, SNAP/food stamp benefits, TANF, child support, VA benefits, Social Security income.
- Demographic Information: Information about everyone in the household. Examples may include: Social Security number, birthdate, health insurance provider, contact information.
Services provided 9 am - 12 pm and 1 pm - 4 pm.
Walk-ins: M-T-Th-F.

Midwest Special Needs Trust Charitable Trust Program provides financial assistance grants to residents of Missouri who are at or below the Federal Poverty Level and have a Social Security Administration verifiable disability. The maximum grant award is $2000. Grants may be requested for medical and dental care, rehabilitative services or equipment, educational assistance, specialized transportation and other needs not covered by public benefits or available through other community programs.
