It also covers the three additional counties we provide Head Start for: Benton, Hickory, and Morgan. It's a comprehensive guide that includes any and all resources available to help lower income individuals and families in need. The resources and information listed in the guide have been compiled by other groups and agencies in our 8 county service area over the years, and most notably in Boone County by the Voluntary Action Center.

LIHEAP helps low-income families pay their energy bills during times of hardship. It can help cover your heating or cooling costs & may even help with emergency services such as: emergency lodging, replacing or repairing a furnace or central air, wood stoves, window air conditioner, or blankets.

St. Vincent de Paul Society is a charity organization of the Catholic Church. They assist residents of Columbia, Missouri mostly with rent and utility bills but all assistance requests are considered.
Help Line: The St. Vincent de Paul Society help line is open for assistance on Monday and Wednesday. Neighbors can leave a message from 8:30 am to 9:30 am on those days and we will try to respond to their request. The Help Line number is: 573-424-1022.
