MU Gift of Body Donation

Bodies donated to the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine are used for educational purposes in the instruction for students training for the medical, physical the rapy, and athletic training professions. Bodies are also used in undergraduate anatomy courses, largely populated by pre-health care professions students, and by physicians and researchers who are involved in more specific studies to advance educational and basic science research outcomes in various medical specialties, such as orthopedics, otolaryngology, and plastic surgery. Remains will eventually be cremated and the ashes returned.

The Genesis Donor Program

Located in Memphis, TN and accept donations from Missouri. They are open for general questions 8:30a-5p but someone is on call 24/7.

Genesis Whole Body Donation Program arranges transportation, a death certificate, and cremation at no cost to your family. For families who may be financially exhausted or object to traditional expensive funerals, the Genesis program offers a noble and dignified alternative. Ashes are returned to your loved ones or interred in a mausoleum in the Memphis area, avoiding the ecological burden of a typical burial.
