Sara Stone embodies a steadfast commitment to community transformation in her role as Transitional Housing Program Manager. A native of the Columbia area, Sara earned a B.A. in Sociology from MU. Her 12-year tenure in Social Services in the Columbia area, with a focus on housing marginalized groups, is marked by a HUD Certified Housing Counselor designation, highlighting her expertise in securing stable housing for those in need.

Sara’s childhood summers were spent with her father at work camps, building and repairing homes in several states for people in need. These experiences instilled a deep sense of empathy and service, which she channels into her work today. Her lived experience in poverty and using social services fuels her advocacy, ensuring that her clients receive the support they need to thrive.

In her personal life, Sara is a wife and mother to a blended family of three boys. She enjoys camping and being outdoors.
