Open to people of all ages, abilities, and economic circumstances, Access Arts is committed to providing creative learning experiences for everyone.
We offer weekly classes in a variety of fine art and traditional crafts media, including ceramics (both hand-building and wheel thrown pottery), weaving, and spinning. Each session lasts six weeks, with a roughly two-week break to re-set our studios between sessions. Studios are available for advanced students to work independently, and we offer a variety of one-time workshops throughout the year.
We host eight weeks of summer camp designed for working families, with dropoff as early as 7:45am and pick up at 5pm. We also offer day-long camps when Columbia Public Schools are closed for teacher workdays and spring break.
We have a weekly grownup + toddler time for ages 1 to 3 years old with an adult.
We have a free afterschool art club for students at our Partner-in-Education, Benton Elementary.
We offer classes on-site at Woodhaven Encirlcle, Evertrue Lenoir Woods, and Services for Independent Living.
Military Veterans can take any of our weekly adult classes free of charge, year-round, funded by a grant from Truman VA. We have one class reserved exclusively for Veterans, taught by a Veteran, that meets Wednesday nights from 6-8:30pm.
We offer need-based scholarships and work-study options for students who need financial assistance.
