Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is offered at Love Columbia every Friday from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm, beginning February 14, 2025, through April 11, 2025, by APPOINTMENT ONLY.
We are now scheduling for this tax season. Those interested can contact Ashlin at (573) 256-7662 extension 142. 1209 East Walnut, Columbia, MO 65201.
As a VITA site, LOVE Columbia offers free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their tax returns. While certain situations are out-of-scope, generally we can provide these services to people with low to moderate income, persons with disabilities, and some others. We can do the previous year’s return as well; we just need to know that when we are scheduling so we can allow time and have experienced preparer available.
All VITA/TCE volunteers who prepare returns must take and pass tax law training that meets or exceeds IRS standards. We can help clients and others in the community meet their obligation to file without the significant expense of a paid preparer or an opportunistic lending company, and often the clients receive much-needed refunds they otherwise would have missed
