Requesting Assistance from Love Columbia

We’re here to help. Love Columbia helps individuals and families find resources, build stability, and take next steps forward. We welcome new assistance requests every Tuesday from 12:00–1:00pm. A link to the form will be available below during the timeframe we are able to accept new requests. We're able to take the first 20 requests each week and will respond to as many neighbors as we can.

Please note: CARE (City Assistance for Rent and Eviction) funding has ended. Limited help with past-due rent may still be available. Please see the Financial Help section for more info.

Many people come to us needing help right away. We also want to help you plan for what comes next.

About Financial Help Requests

We know financial pressure can feel overwhelming. Love Columbia receives many requests for financial help, and we are limited in how many we can handle at one time.

When you ask for financial help, a team member will contact you to learn more about your situation. They may ask questions or request paperwork. We want to understand not just where you are now, but where you are headed so we can figure out the best way to help.

Sometimes we can help with a bill directly. Other times, we may offer coaching, classes, or other support to help you prepare for the next month. Our goal is always to help you get to a place where you won’t need to ask again.

Rent is often what brings people to us first. Love Columbia is no longer able to offer the level of rent assistance we provided in recent years through pandemic-era funding. Those programs have ended, and any help with past-due rent is now limited. We still welcome your request, but sometimes the right help looks different: a payment plan with your landlord, coaching to stabilize your budget, or help finding a more sustainable housing situation.

What Happens Next

After submitting your request, our team will review it and follow up as quickly as possible. We may not be able to meet every request, but we will respond with care and concern.

RentWell tenant training classes meet weekly on Thursday afternoons with no waitlist.

Career Coaching Workshops are available on Mondays at 1pm and Tuesdays at 4:30pm.
