Lacrasha Launches New Business

Lacrasha Brooks poses with her new business license. She started Lacrasha’s cleaning business after being laid off her job at a local retail store due to the shutdown. Lacrasha says she gained the confidence to launch her own business by completing Love INC’s Jobs for Life program in 2019. She already has regular customers and is supporting her family.Lacrasha And Coach

Hope Emerges from Calls for Help!

It is encouraging that though the volume of requests for assistance is staying high, we are seeing rays of hope emerging even within the calls for help. Some examples:

  • A single mom asking for help with the testing fee to gain entrance to nursing school
  • A single dad requesting a car repair so he can get to his temp job that will become a permanent hire next week
  • An elderly woman and her disabled daughter needing help emptying their storage unit as they finally got permanent housing and can end a six month hotel stay
  • A family of seven requesting furniture as the dad got a job and they can now get their own place
  • A family of three needing rent assistance for only one month as the mom got called back to work
