Missouri Parents Act (MPACT) is a state-wide, non-profit Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) established in 1988. Our Mission: Empowering families to advocate for themselves so that children with special education needs can reach their full potential in education and life.

CMCA - Resource Guide

This resource guide covers CMCA's 8 county service area: Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Howard, Moniteau and Osage. It also covers the three additional counties we provide Head Start for: Benton, Hickory, and Morgan. It's a comprehensive guide that includes any and all resources available to help lower income individuals and families in need. Welcome to the Disabled Athletes Sports Association, where everyone who lives with a physical disability is given the opportunity to participate in adaptive sports, recreational programs, and fitness activities designed to improve self-esteem, strength, independence, and well-being while instilling family values.
At DASA, all children, adults, and military veterans with disabilities are encouraged to seek their highest level of independence for daily functioning and productivity and become involved to the fullest extent with their non-disabled peers and their community as a whole.

Special Olympics
Special Olympics Missouri offers 13 sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities to practice and compete in, each of which are grouped in competition divisions according to ability level, age and gender. We offer a Young Athletes program for children ages 2 to 7 years old. You must be 8 years old to officially compete as a Special Olympics Missouri athlete. These positions are remote call center positions in the areas of customer services, sales and technical support. Our hiring employers range from government agencies to large retailers to medical companies.

Social Security Administration

The Social Security Administration provides monthly income for those who are retired or have been determined to be disabled. Social Security also enrolls you in Original Medicare (Part A and Part B). Central Missouri Regional Office for the Developmentally Disabled

The Division of Developmental Disabilities serves a population that has developmental disabilities such as intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, head injuries, autism, epilepsy, and certain learning disabilities. Such conditions must have occurred before age 22. Go COMO Paratransit offers inclusive, point-to-point transportation for those who complete an application and qualify with a doctor's endorsement, ensuring that everyone can travel comfortably and confidently throughout our community.
The City has lift-equipped paratransit mini-buses that provide origin to destination service to qualified individuals. Reliable transportation is a valuable asset for ADA-eligible citizens when they seek to work, attend school, shop or get health care. Since passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the City of Columbia has provided origin to destination transportation service to citizens who are certified as unable to ride Go COMO’s fixed-route bus system.
Our goal is to provide safe, courteous, and reliable transportation to all our clients with challenges that restrict their ability to use the regular fixed route bus system.

Meals on Wheels of Columbia

Meals on Wheels of Columbia is a non-profit organization that aims to extend independence to seniors in our community. Through the help of our many volunteer drivers, we are able to provide a hot, nutritious meal to those with limited mobility. Meals on Wheels operates on a sliding fee schedule based on the federal poverty level. This allows each client to pay according to their financial status.
