The Center's FREE programs cover a wide range of needs, including tax assistance, family support, medical care and even summer camps that are geared towards youth excellence & college preparation.

Building Strong Families - This course is offered every year. The program is free, and child-care and dinner are included. Sessions will be held on the first Tuesday and third Wednesday of every month from 6:00p.m.-7:30 p.m. For more information, call 573-882-2428.

Nutritional Counseling - Nutrition counseling services offered include help with meal planning, budget-friendly shopping strategies, healthy eating tips, basic diabetic nutrition counseling, heart healthy nutrition counseling, weight management, family nutrition and more. Tax Assistance - University of Missouri students in the department of Personal Financial Planning are trained and IRS-certified to provide this free service to individuals in the Columbia community, primarily for people with low to moderate incomes, those with disabilities, the elderly and English-as-a-second-language taxpayers.

Starting Jan. 31, 2022, VITA services will be provided at the Family Impact Center on Mondays on a walk-in basis from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 3 p.m.-5:30 p.m. (no services on March 14 due to Spring Break).
