KVC Missouri is a nonprofit that strengthens families, prevents child abuse and neglect, and helps people achieve mental health wellness. We provide a continuum of services that support children and families experiencing a range of life struggles and equip them with skills and resources to live a healthier and happier life.
Please see Love Columbia staff for a referral form.
· The Hope Program: A short term, intensive program for Boone County families, offering individual and family therapy, substance disorder therapy, and family group decision making services for the entire family to help establish healthy relationships and interactions.
· Residential Mental Health Treatment: A residential mental health treatment program for children ages 6 to 20 who are struggling with emotional and/or behavioral challenges. Treatment is based on each child’s unique needs and uses a combination of therapeutic services, including individual, group and family therapy, psychiatric services, medication management, and 24-hour supervision in a therapeutic milieu setting.
· Therapeutic Foster Care: Therapeutic foster care (TFC) is a higher level of care provided for children in transition from residential mental health treatment or whose needs cannot be met through a traditional foster care placement. KVC is seeking caring and compassionate people to become foster parents to provide highly structured, around-the-clock care to children in a family setting. Children in TFC are between the ages of 6 to 21 and have a wide array of developmental, behavioral and/or emotional challenges.
· Autism Services: KVC Missouri offers a range of services for youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families, including a camp program, education, respite care and residential care.
· Education: KVC Academy supports students who struggle in mainstream classroom settings. It provides learning, growth and healing in a therapeutic school setting from trauma-informed personnel who work with students to build trusting relationships and empower them with individualized tools. The school helps each student reach their goals whether that’s graduating from high school, returning to a traditional school setting, continuing to post-secondary, vocational or technical training, or preparing to enter the workforce.
