Veterans only
More than just a shelter, Welcome Home provides 32 transitional housing rooms, with 34 beds, for homeless Veterans and families, including a separate corridor for female Veterans. It is located is located on Columbia’s Veterans Campus where they serve all homeless veterans, not just those from Columbia. Call for an interview.
Their Rapid Rehousing Program includes intensive case management, financial planning, and connection to VA benefits and services; Housing identification and matching, improving capacity for long-term housing, income, and personal stability; Direct financial assistance for upfront housing expenses like move-in deposits, security and utility deposits, household essentials and supplies; and other supportive services, which may include: transportation assistance, landlord/tenant mediation, and budgeting.
Welcome Home’s Veteran Employment Services Provides job readiness training, including resume and interview prep. They help maintain strong support networks with area employers to connect Veterans with meaningful employment. Help is also provided to secure training opportunities and job placement assistance.
