Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be offered at Love Columbia every Friday from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm, beginning February 11, 2022 through April 8, 2022 by APPOINTMENT ONLY.

How can I sign up for Tax Assistance:

To receive Income Tax Assistance you must have an appointment. Appointments are scheduled through Love Columbia’s Clearinghouse. To set up an appointment contact the Clearinghouse at 573-256-7662 ext. 104 and leave your name, phone number, email address & request to sign up for VITA. The Clearinghouse will contact you to schedule an appointment for Income Tax Assistance.

Do I need to bring anything:

1. Identification

• A photo ID

• Social Security cards and/or ITIN notices and birth dates for every individual on your return.

2. Income

• W-2, each employer and other income-related documents

• Social Security, railroad retirement or veteran’s benefits

• All 1099 forms (1099-G, 1099-R, 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, etc.)

• Personal business income and expenses

3. Deductions

• Dependent care provider info

• Education 1098s and student loan payments

• 1098 form showing home mortgage interest

• Health insurance and out-of-pocket medical costs

• Long-term care insurance receipts

• Property tax receipts and tax receipts for new car purchase

• Charity receipts

4. Health Insurance

• Health insurance forms (1095A, 1095B or 1095C)

• Income documents for all household members whether claimed as dependent or not, including students living at college, even if they had no coverage for all or part of 2020.

5. Property Tax Credit or Rent Credit

• Real Estate tax receipt or rent verification letter with landlord’s name, address and phone number, signed by the landlord.

• For mobile homes, form 948 & paid property tax receipt

6. For Direct Deposit Tax Refunds

• Checkbook or blank check (not deposit slips or credit/debit card)
