Veterans United (VU) assists and facilitates the various VU internship programs. Our Flourish Internships are for high school students who are experiencing employment barriers. We work closely with high school counselors and non-profit agencies to identify students who would highly benefit from this unique opportunity. Our internship programs are specifically designed for youth from marginalized communities, including but not limited to students of color, under-resourced, employment barriers, etc. This internship is designed for students experiencing barriers to ‘earn while they learn’ employment skills at VU. Additionally, students who successfully complete this program could be referred for a scholarship opportunity through VU.
Prep I Internship
Flourish, in partnership with Veterans United Home Loans and Boone County Children’s Services Funds, is offering a unique summer internship. We are recruiting rising high school seniors who want to develop personal and professional skills! By participating in over 100+ hours of paid job coaching, professional development, service-learning and career exploration, Flourish Prep I interns will have the skills and confidence to apply to a post-secondary opportunity or enter the work force.

Prep II Internship
Flourish, in partnership with Veterans United Home Loans, is thrilled to offer our first Prep II internship. We are recruiting recent high school graduates (December 2021 or May 2022) who are motivated to develop employment skills for success beyond high school. Interns will join us for a 9-week summer internship, working alongside VU professionals providing excellent customers service. Prep II interns will also have paid professional development training specifically for VU’s collegiate intern programs.
