Safe Families for Children is a network of families who volunteer to provide temporary overnight respite care for your children, with the average length being 30-45 days. However, the time frame can vary depending on the needs of the caregivers and host family availability. Our mission is to host vulnerable children and create extended family–like supports for families walking through difficult life challenges through a community of devoted volunteers who are motivated by compassion to keep children safe and families intact. We will support families as they work towards goals and overall stability.
As the biological parent (or legal guardian) you maintain full custody of your children. You are encouraged to participate in decisions regarding their care while they are being hosted. We serve youth ages 0-18 who do not have significant medical or behavioral needs.
