Built in 2009 to be energy efficient and fully ADA accessible, the McBaine Avenue Townhomes combine affordability with convenience. Each two or three bedroom home is equipped with dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal and ceiling fans. Electrical outlets are located high and low to accomodate the increased use of video games and wall-mounted televisions. Front porches are staggered for privacy and there is ample parking in the rear. Apartments are all smoke-free.
Rent is based on 30% of the household’s income (Employment or Social Security). To get a rough idea of your rent, add up your income – not including food stamps – multiply by 0.30 (30%) and divide the total by 12 months. You will need to pay gas and electric costs, even if you are not employed. CHA pays for water, sewer and trash. Deposit is due in full before move in once notification of an available unit.

Deposit ranges from $300 to $450; due after notification of an available unit.
$200 is needed by move-in date; the rest can be made in payments.
Housing Choice Voucher Program (Formerly Section 8)
• Wait List opens once every 2-3 years.
• When applications process is open, local social service agencies will be notified and it will be advertised in the legal section of the newspapers.
• List stays open for one week; apply between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
• List is compiled by a lottery system, though Preference is given to working families, the elderly and persons with disabilities.
