Similar attire for women.
FRESH BREATH. Bad breath is a distraction that is easily avoided.
BE ORGANIZED.
Have copies of RESUME to give to employers.
Have a pen and paper to take notes.
Remember your glasses if reading is difficult.
REVIEW the companies attending and establish a plan.
JOB OFFER’s are seldom presented at a Job Fair, but this is an opportunity to network, make an impression and set appointment for a later time.
FOLLOW UP! If they ask you to fill out an application, remember that pen you brought with you, now is your chance to use it.
BE CONFIDENT. These employers are looking for the right employee. Act, talk and look like someone they would like to hire.
INTRODUCE YOURSELF: “Hi, my name is ___________________”.
“I’ve been doing _______________, but I’m interested in your company. What positions are you trying to fill?”
Be prepared to tell them a little about yourself, what you’re interested in, what you want to do.
IT’S OK to ask questions and/or ask for a business card. Remember to write down who you spoke with and information you obtained about the company or the job.
