Program: Lincoln University (LU) has been awarded $1.45 million by the National Science Foundation for its Noyce Grant Proposal-The Pipeline to Equity: Recruiting and Retaining Underrepresented Populations in STEM Majors as K-12 Teachers. This grant will enable LU to partner with Jefferson City, Kansas City and Mexico Public School Districts; as well as collaborate with Moberly Area Community College (MACC) to develop Grow-Your-Own Initiatives in rural and high minority/poverty areas. LU will award a minimum of 32 Regal NOYCE full-ride sholarships during the implementation of the grant.
Scholars must meet the following criteria:
Must be a U.S.Citizen
Must have at least 60 hours of college credit hours
Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75
Have an 18 ACT or receive a qualifying score on the MOGEA
Agree to teach four years in a high-need school district at degree completion (1 year of scholarship = 2 years of service)
Pass a criminal background check
Agree to participate in the summer program between their junior and senior year of college
Administration: This grant is being lead by faculty from the School of Education and STEM Department. Scholars will be able to interact with both a STEM and Education advisor throughout their award. Dr. Ayanna L. Shivers (SOE) serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) for the project. Dr. Aimee Busalacki (Science) and Mrs. Kaitlyn Holtmeyer (Math) serve as the STEM Co-PIs for it.
THE PROGRAM: In addition to the 32 scholarships that will be awarded the following activities will be implemented:

REGAL Interns (freshmen, sophomores)
Middle/High School STEM Activities
STEM Advisory Board
Annual STEM Conference
Networking and Presenting at Conferences
Eligibility: Summer Interns must have earned 20 college credits by Spring 2022; Scholarship recipients must have 60 college credit hours by Fall 2022. Both interns and scholars need a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA; at least an 18 on the ACT or passing MOGEA scores.

WHEN TO APPLY: Applications are available October 1st for the upcoming school year and summer interns. All applications are due by February 1st, and awardees will be notified in March.
